Dane Hansen enters his second season with the Seahawks after joining the staff for the 2025 season and helping UNCW to the finals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
In 2025, the Seahawks posted a 22-9 record and reached the finals of the SBC Championship for the first time in program history. The Seahawks advanced to the finals against nationally-ranked Georgia State with a 3-2 win over rival Coastal Carolina.
Hansen spent five seasons playing at the professional level on the AVP Tour. In 1994, he won the AVP Qualifier Tour. He played indoor volleyball at the collegiate level at Colorado State and UC Santa Barbara before joining the professional ranks.
His wife, Alice, played elite volleyball in California and Colorado, while son Trey played junior college baseball at Wake Tech, and daughter Tori was an All-American soccer player at North Carolina and now plays for Sparta Prague of the Czech Women’s First League.
