Alex McDaniel enters his first season with the program in the spring of 2022.
McDaniel hails from Florida where he began his career in athletics playing indoor and beach volleyball. He competed beach volleyball for seven years throughout Florida and California both on the Bud Light volleyball tour and the California Beach Volleyball Association tour.
McDaniel shifted his focus to athletic training following the rehabilitation process after sustaining a career-ending injury during play. McDaniel completed a Doctorate in Health Science from Nova Southeastern University in June of 2018.
He has worked as an athletic trainer at UNCW, Hoggard High School, and has owned a human performance rehabilitation facility and a sports medicine outreach company in Wilmington. He is currently an Assistant Professor for the School of Health and Applied Human Science at UNCW.Â
