Meghan Thornburg joined the UNCW Athletics staff as an administrative assistant for the women’s basketball program in November 2020.
Prior to moving to the Port City, the Shelbyville, Ind., native spent the 2019-20 season as the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at Central Michigan University. She oversaw the Chippewas’ travel arrangements and equipment along with the team’s film exchange, budget and managers. In addition, she assisted with the team’s camps and other day-to-day operations of the program.
A two-time graduate of Purdue University, Thornburg served as the Boilermakers’ Head Manager from 2012-17 before moving into a graduate assistant role for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons under Coach Sharon Versyp. The Boilermakers made five postseason appearances, including four NCAA Tournament berths, during Thornburg’s time on the West Lafayette, Ind., campus.
Thornburg earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2017 and received her Master of Science degree in Sports and Recreation Management in 2019.
