Former UNCW women’s basketball standout Jenny DeGraaf finished her first season as the Seahawks' Director of Women’s Basketball Operations during the 2020-21 campaign.
DeGraaf, a 2018 UNCW graduate, rejoined the program after spending two years as a graduate assistant at Boston College, where she worked for Coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee. The Springboro, Ohio, native assisted with many aspects of the Eagles’ operations, including game scheduling, video, travel, summer camps and special events.
After transferring from Penn State, DeGraaf started 39-of-61 games over two seasons at UNCW while netting 578 points. She started all 31 contests during the 2017-18 campaign and earned Second-Team All-NCCSIA honors after ranking second on the team with an 11.6 scoring average.
DeGraaf paced the Colonial Athletic Association during her redshirt senior season by sinking 83.5 percent at the free throw line, which ranks fifth on the Seahawks’ single-season list. DeGraaf’s 7.5 rebounds per game were good for seventh in the circuit.
DeGraaf, who participated in the WBCA “So You Want to Be a Coach” program after the 2017-18 season, appeared in 46 games at Penn State before joining the Seahawks. She averaged 2.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per outing for the Nittany Lions, who reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2013-14.
