Madison Taylor Headshot

Madison Taylor

Madison Taylor enters her third season with the Seahawks in 2025-26. She was hired as a program assistant in June 2023. During the 2024-25 season, Taylor was quickly elevated by UNCW women's basketball head coach Nicole Woods as the team's director of operations and an assistant coach.

Taylor has been a critical aide for Woods during her time in the Port City. Taylor's primary duties as the Seahawks' director of operations include overseeing all operational logistics while executing a comprehensive academic and athletic plan to ensure student-athlete and program success, as well as leading the program's student managers. Her additional responsibilities include travel, team calendar management, special events, social media and community service.

In her first season as an assistant coach in 2024-25, Taylor coached the 2025 CAA Defensive Player of the Year and first-team selection Ali Zelaya as well as Evan Miller, who went on to become the program's all-time leader in games played and signed a professional contract with A.D. Sanjoanense in Portugal after the season.

Taylor also coached Kate Hollifield, who led the CAA shooting 43.5% from 3-point range in conference games during the 2024-25 season. She worked with Tia Dobson, who led all freshmen in the CAA during the 2024-25 campaign with 65 assists.

"Madison is the epitome of a servant leader. She has worn many different hats and excelled in them all," Woods said. "She wasn't given these promotions, she EARNED them. We are grateful to still have her!"

A four-year letter winner for the College of Charleston, Taylor made 101 appearances, including 52 starts. She averaged 4.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.9 minutes across her four seasons.

Taylor enjoyed her best season as a sophomore in 2019-20. The Raleigh, North Carolina native averaged 6.7 points, dished out 37 assists while collecting 41 steals, the third-highest on the team.

Taylor graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor's degree in public health in 2022. She later earned a master's degree from VCU's Center for Sport Leadership in 2023.
