Prior to Nebraska Omaha, Salter spent time at Ferris State, where she helped guide the Bulldogs to a 26-6 record and an NCAA Division II semifinal appearance. While at Ferris State, Salter coached Chloe Idoni to Preseason All-GLIAC Player of the Year, All-GLIAC First Team, Midwest Region Player of the Year and NCAA Division II First Team honors during her final season. Idoni also earned four GLIAC Player of the Week awards in 2023-24 and finished her career as the third-leading scorer and shot blocker in program history. She was also named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.

Salter also helped develop Kadyn Blanchard into a 1,000-point scorer and Ferris State’s all-time leading scorer. Blanchard earned All-GLIAC First Team and NCAA All-Region First Team honors, as well as the GLIAC Academic Excellence Award in 2022-23.

At Olivet, Salter created the program’s first Comet Club and launched elite and youth camps. She also helped raise more than $10,000 to support program equipment and other needs. Salter coached Rachel Swartz to the program’s single-season blocks record in 2022.

Before beginning her coaching career, Salter was a highly regarded high school prospect in Tallahassee, Florida. She was ranked No. 89 nationally by ESPN and HoopGurlz and attended FAMU D.R.S., where she helped lead the program to back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013. Salter was a three-time Big Bend Player of the Year, a two-time 2A Dairy Farmers Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
