Kevin Harris enters his first season with the UNCW women's basketball staff in 2025-26.

Harris arrives in Wilmington after three seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Virginia State in Petersburg, Va.
Harris helped guide Virginia State to two straight 20-plus win seasons in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
During the 2024-25 season, the Trojans posted a record of 23-7, including a 14-2 record in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. Virginia State made the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament and finished runner-up at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament.
In 2023-24, the Trojans went 23-5 and reached the semifinals of the CIAA Tournament.
Harris spent two seasons at the NCAA Division I level with Norfolk State's women's basketball program. After serving as director of operations in 2020-21, Harris was elevated to assistant coach for the 2021-22 campaign.
In 2021-22, he helped the Spartans finish 17-12 overall and 11-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Spartans reached the conference championship game and earned a berth in the WNIT.
Harris began his career as the girls' basketball head coach from 2018-20 at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Va. He led the Sun Devils to a 29-20 record and two postseason appearances. He coached a pair of first-team all-region players and three all-conference honorees.
In addition to his coaching duties, he served as a special education teacher assistant and an academic counselor for student-athletes.
