Reggie Overton, who has worked in strength and conditioning at three different institutions, joined the UNCW athletic staff in the fall of 2019.
Overton, 29, previously served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Buffalo. He also worked as an assistant strength coach for Cincinnati's football team in 2017 and as a graduate assistant coach at Louisiana.
Overton is a 2012 graduate of Mount Union, where he lettered in football for the Purple Raiders and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He is enrolled in the Master's in Sport Management program at Florida.
In addition to his strength credentials, Overton holds a Level I coaching certificate from USA Weightlifting. He will work directly with the softball, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving and women's tennis teams.
Before moving into the strength and conditioning field full-time, Overton played one season of professional football for the Saginaw Sting of the now-defunct Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL).
