A native of Cape Cod, Mass., Danielle Cotellessa joined the UNCW staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July of 2014 and has since provided coverage for the softball team.

Cotellessa earned her B.S. in Athletic Training from Springfield College in 2012 and her M.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Medicine from UNC Greensboro in 2014. During her time at UNCG, she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for women’s volleyball, track and field, and softball in addition to serving as a clinical preceptor and teaching assistant for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program.
Cotellessa is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for the UNCW Athletic Training Program and is an instructor for the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences.
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association.
