Former Presbyterian College record-setting utility player Jill McLean was named as an assistant coach for the UNCW softball team in August, 2015.
A four-year starter for the Blue Hose, McLean finished her career ranked second in school history with 198 games started and her 198 career games played ranks third on the school's career list. The two-time Honorable Mention All-Big South Conference selection posted a .339 career batting average, which ranks second in school history.
McLean also ended her career as the Blue Hose's all-time leader with 196 hits, 116 runs scored and eight triples. She was also an impressive 50-for-70 (.714) in stolen base attempts in her career.
After leading the team in batting average, runs, hits, walks, stolen bases and triples as a junior, the Spotsylvania, Va., native ranked second on the team last season with a .366 batting average while pacing the Blue Hose with 59 hits and 22 stolen bases. She also ranked third on the team by scoring 31 runs.
McLean graduated from Presbyterian in May with a degree in sociology.
