Biography

2007-08 (FRESHMAN): Went 12-6 at No. 2 singles in first season with Seahawks...Posted 8-3 recordat No. 2 singles...Named Team MVP and received All CAA singles honors

2008-09 (SOPHOMORE): Was named 1st Team All CAA singles...Went 16-5 in singles and 14-6 in doubles...Played No. 1 and No. 2 singles...Posted 13-1 record at No. 2 singles...Fashioned 8-4 record at No. 1 doubles.

2009-2010 (JUNIOR): First-Team All-CAA in singles...Second-Team All-CAA in doubles...Led the team with 5 nationally ranked singles wins.  Played No. 1 position in 19 of team's 21 matches in spring season...Fashioned 11-9 record...Also went 15-5 in doubles action...Winner of UNCW Invitational A flight singles in fall...Went 10-5 in fall campaign...Recorded wins over players from Tennessee, N.C.State, Georgia, Clemson and Wake Forest.

PERSONAL: Ranked 27th by USTA Southern Section in junior tennis...Won National Open Backdraw and Southern Bullfrog event in juniors...Played on ITF's Futures Tour in summer of 2009...Born in Durham, N.C...Son of Joseph and Denise Pereira...Majoring in Chemistry.
