Biography

      Tom Riordan joined the UNCW sports information staff in the fall of 1999 after a successful career at New York Tech as a student-athlete and sports information director.

       Riordan, a native of Norfolk, Va., was a pitcher and infielder for the Bears from 1990-93 and stayed with the program to serve as the school's first SID. He worked at Tech for five years before accepting his current post at UNCW.
       At Tech, Riordan publicized the NCAA Division II school's nationally-ranked track and field and lacross program as well as NYIT's Division I baseball fortunes. He assisted with a pair of national championship runs by the Bears and also worked numerous East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship events.

       Riordan assists with all phases of UNCW's sports information operation. While at Tech, helped implement the department's first web site and later coordinated UNCWsports.com's migration to XOS-Jump TV in 2008.

       He serves as the primary contact for UNCW's men's soccer, men's track and field, men's swimming and diving, baseball, women's track and field, women's swimming and diving and men's golf programs.
