      Patrick Ransdell was appointed Senior Associate Athletic Director and Director of the Seahawk Club by Director of Athletics Jimmy Bass in February of 2011.
      Ransdell came to UNCW following stints at five different institutions, including three years at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. He began his association at CCU as a major gifts officer before being named Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Marketing in May of 2009 and Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales in April of 2010.
      In his roles with the Chanticleers, Ransdell helped raise more than $1.3 million to complete the school's football field house project, contributed to the planning and development of the $30 million Convocation/Recreation Center and provided assistance with several facility improvements to the baseball complex. Ransdell controlled all marketing and sales responsibilities within a restricted external relations department.
      Ransdell also worked in various administrative positions at Western Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Ohio University and the University of Mississippi before moving to Coastal. He was a four-year student-athlete in baseball at WKU prior to embarking on his marketing and fund raising career.
      Ransdell earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from Western Kentucky and completed his Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Sports Administration from Ohio University.
