Former UNCW tennis standout Kathleen Bowles returned to her alma mater in May of 2009 as Assistant Director of Athletic Development and became Assistant Director of the Seahawk Club in February of 2011.
A native of Richmond, Bowles played four seasons for the Seahawks from 1999-2002 before embarking on her professional career.
After completing her Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004, Bowles was tapped to be the Director of Community Engagement program, “Lobs & Lessons.” While developing the youth and community outreach program, she was hired by Fortune 500 companies to produce and lead annual fundraising events involving recording artists and tennis champions such as James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Andre Agassi, Serena Williams, Andy Roddick, and James Blake.
In 2007, Bowles project managed the construction of a $2.5 million building on VCU’s campus for community programs. Since 2004, Bowles has been directly involved with raising more than $5 million for community programs.
Bowles earned her B.S. Degree in Political Science from UNCW in 2002. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, going to the beach, and traveling.
