Caldwell Academy: Played five years for the Eagles … Helped team to State finals appearance as a senior … Team MVP his junior and senior seasons … Earned NCIHSAA All-State honors his junior and senior years … All-Triad Athletic Conference selection as a freshman through senior seasons … Triad Conference Player-of-the-Year as a junior … Went 3-1 with four saves his senior season while posting a 1.69 ERA and striking out 49 in 20 innings … Also hit .424 with 14 doubles … Drove in 22 runs and scored 24 … Hit .375 during his prep career with 108 hits, 22 doubles and 13 triples … Stole 44 bases … Also played soccer for three seasons … Earned All-Conference honors as a junior.
