Robbie Monday, a former UNCW standout, enters his fifth season on the coaching staff in 2017. Monday assists with the hitters.
In 2016, Monday helped the UNCW offense become one of the nation’s elite. The Seahawks produced an impressive offense, one that ranked in the top-10 nationally in several categories, including batting average (eighth/.320), hits (sixth/694), home runs (third/87), runs (third/505), scoring (third/8.4) and slugging percentage (second/.517).
 CAA Player-of-the-Year, Nick Feight, produced a career-year, hitting .349 and tying school records with 24 doubles and 21 home runs, His 91 runs batted in were a school record and led the nation. Feight earned six All-America honors while Brian Mims, who hit .371 with 33 extra base hits was named All-America by four outlets.
In his third season (2015) with the Seahawks, UNCW made its second trip to the NCAA tournament during that stretch. The Seahawk swept their way to a fourth conference championship and reached the finals of the Baton Rouge Regional for the fourth time in seven NCAA appearances.
Monday played for the Seahawks in 2009 and 2010, finishing his career as the program’s all-time leader in slugging percentage (.620) and fourth with 32 career home runs. In 2010, Monday led the Colonial Athletic Association with 20 round trippers and earned second-team All-CAA honors. He was a third-team selection as a junior, his first season with the Seahawks after transferring from Surry Community College.
Prior to returning to UNCW, Monday served on former UNCW assistant Josh Simmons’ staff for one season. In his only season with Barton, the Bulldogs hit .285 with 30 home runs and 107 doubles. Phillip Williams earned second-team All-Conference Carolinas after tying for the team lead with eight homers and knocking a team-high 40 runs. Collins Cuthrell also earned second-team honors by hitting .331 and matching Williams’ team-high eight homers.
