UNCW Track & Field A-Z Guide

ADA ACCOMMODATIONS: Please find below a list of disability services currently provided at the Harold Greene Track Complex. Prior to the meet, guests with any special needs are encouraged to reach out to the UNCW Facilities & Event Management team at 910-962-3235 or gameday@uncw.edu. Our staff can assist in making arrangements for your visit and answer any questions.  If you have any questions on game day, please contact the nearest event staff member.
  • Parking - Located in the Gravel Lot between the Track and Softball complex. Additional ADA parking is located next to the Almkuist-Nixon Sports Medicine building, adjacent to the UNCW Tennis courts. Fans must show a handicap permit hangtag, license plate or some kind of documentation to park in the ADA spots.
  • Seating - The front rows of each section of bleachers will be reserved for ADA patrons. All seating is first come first serve.
  • Restrooms - For UNCW meets an ADA Port-a-John will be available. Additional accessible restrooms are located in the West Entry building (main entrance to UNCW Soccer Complex).
  • Sidewalks - There are handicap accessible sidewalks from the main entrance to fan seating areas, as well as from all accessible parking spots.

ADMISSIONS: All UNCW Track & Field meets are free to attend.

ALCOHOL/TOBACCO: Alcohol, illegal drugs and tobacco products are strictly prohibited at all UNCW Athletics events. Individuals violating this policy are subject to ejection from the stadium.

ANIMALS: Service animals are welcome. All service animals must remain on a leash and be accompanied by their caretaker at all times.

BABY CHANGING STATIONS: Baby changing stations are located in the restrooms of the West Entry building (main entrance to the UNCW Soccer Complex)

BIKE PARKING: Located between the UNCW Tennis Complex and Almkuist-Nixon Sports Medicine building. Please note that UNCW Athletics is not responsible for any lost or stolen bikes.

BANNERS/SIGNS: Banners and signs are permitted within the Harold Greene Track & Field Complex if they are not on a pole or stick. Signs and banners must not contain any vulgar or inappropriate language or images. Signs deemed inappropriate by event staff are subject to confiscation.

CAMERA POLICY:
  • No flash photography is permitted.
  • No Video cameras or Camcorders.
  • No still/professional cameras with lenses over five inches and/or 50 mm
  • Cameras/camcorders that do not follow UNCW policies may be approved by Athletic Communications for use
CONDUCT: UNCW Athletics expects all fans to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during, and after the competition.  We expect all fans to treat other fans, players, coaches and officials with courtesy.  Please join us in creating a fun, safe, family atmosphere at the Harold Greene Track & Field Complex by not:
  • Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
  • Using/displaying foul or abusive language or gestures
  • Appearing to be intoxicated or in a diminished capacity
  • Entering the competition or restricted access areas;
  • Throwing objects onto the competition area or within the venue
  • Otherwise being disorderly.
Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest.  Fans should contact event staff if they feel someone is not acting appropriately. 

DIRECTIONS: Direction to the UNCW Harold Greene Track & Field Complex are listed below.
  • If Traveling To Wilmington via I-40: I-40 becomes US 132/S. College Road once the interstate ends. Continue traveling south on College Road approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Randall Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Take your first right onto Wagoner Drive. When Wagoner Drive ends, turn left onto Hurst Drive. Turn left at the traffic light onto Hamilton Drive. The Track and Field Complex will be on the right and parking is to the left.
  • If Traveling To Wilmington via US 74/76: After crossing the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, US 74/76 is also called Dawson Street. Continue on Dawson Street approximately 1.5 miles. Dawson Street (US 76E) will bear right and become Oleander Drive. Continue on Oleander Drive approximately 2.5 miles until it intersects with US 132N/College Road. Turn left onto College Road. Travel approximately 1 mile north, and then turn right onto Hurst Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Turn left at the traffic light onto Hamilton Drive. The Track and Field Complex will be on the right and parking is to the left.
  • If Traveling from North of Wilmington via US 17: US 17 becomes Market Street in Wilmington. Continue traveling south on Market Street. Go under the overpass at the junction of US 117S/132S, and immediately turn left at the traffic light onto South College Road. Continue traveling on College Road approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Randall Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Take your first right onto Wagoner Drive. When Wagoner Drive ends, turn left onto Hurst Drive. Turn left at the traffic light onto Hamilton Drive. The Track and Field Complex will be on the right and parking is to the left.
  • If Traveling From Wilmington International Airport: As you exit the airport, turn left onto 23rd Street. Turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Continue to the US 132/College Road intersection, and turn right onto College Road. Travel approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Randall Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Take your first right onto Wagoner Drive. When Wagoner Drive ends, turn left onto Hurst Drive. Turn left at the traffic light onto Hamilton Drive. The Track and Field Complex will be on the right and parking is to the left.

FIRST AID/EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: If you are in need of first aid please contact an event staff member immediately, so they may assist you.
There are several urgent care facilities as well as New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Cape Fear Memorial Hospital and MEDAC Health Services.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Food and beverages are not sold at UNCW Track & Field meets but guests are allowed to bring their own. We kindly remind guests to dispose of any food or beverage trash in the provided trash and recycling bins.

HEAT MANAGEMENT: In the circumstances of extreme heat conditions, a cooling station located by fan bleachers, next to the finish line, will be available for all guests.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
  • UNCW Event Management utilizes DTN WeatherSentry software and notification services.UNCW Event Management will monitor the weather 24 hours a day and use the following policy in the event of severe weather: Evacuation will occur if the storm path will come within an eight (8) mile radius of the track.In the event that the complex needs to be evacuated, the PA Announcer will notify all spectators.All spectators will be asked to clear the complex at this time as quickly as possible.
  • The safest location for spectators to go is in a hard-topped vehicle with the windows up.In the absence of a vehicle, UNCW Event Management Staff will direct spectators to a safe location.The complex will remain closed until the storm is clear of an eight (8) mile radius of the track.Resumption of the meet will only occur once an all clear has been given and conditions are deemed safe after consultation between the meet Officials and UNCW Event Management.

LOST AND FOUND: If any item is lost or found during the meet, please bring it to the attention of event staff or the PA announcer. If the item is deemed lost after leaving the facility, please email gameday@uncw.edu or call UNCW Facilities and Event Management at (910) 962-4245.

LOST CHILD: If a child or patron is deemed lost by a guardian or fellow patron, they should report the situation to an event staff member as soon as possible.

PARKING: Parking is regulated by UNCW parking officials 24/7. Fans should park in the Lot-K Extension next to the UNCW Tennis Complex. ADA parking is available near Almkuist-Nixon Sports Medicine building. PERSONAL BELONGINGS: Please note that UNCW Athletics is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOTAPING: Flash/still photography and filming of UNCW athletic events is prohibited. Patrons who fail to obey this rule are subject to ejection.

PROHIBITED ITEMS: The following items are prohibited from entering the UNCW Track Complex:
  • Alcohol, Tobacco & Illegal Drugs
  • Animals (Service animals welcome)
  • Artificial Noisemakers
  • Balls or Frisbees
  • Cameras with lenses >3”
  • Cans, Glass or Metal Containers
  • Confetti or Glitter
  • Fireworks, Flares or any Explosives
  • Flash Photography
  • Large Bags
  • Laser Pointers
  • Remote Controlled Aircrafts (Drones)
  • Signs, Banners, Flags or any other item that obstructs view or contains inappropriate language.
  • Video Cameras
  • Anything deemed hazardous or unsafe by event personnel
PUBLIC USE: The Greene Track and Field running lanes are open for public use 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. – Dusk. When UNCW has events or outside renters using the track, these hours may be affected.
 
RECYCLING: Recycling bins are located next to fan seating areas for your convenience, as well as throughout the Track Complex.

RESTROOMS: Port-a-Johns will be available for use during the meet. Additional restrooms are located at the main entrance of the UNCW Soccer Complex.

SEATING: Seating for general patrons are located next to the finish line. All seating is first come first serve. Fans are not allowed to stand at the fence in front of the seating area. Fans are allowed to bring their own lawn chair.

SMOKING: Tobacco products are prohibited from the UNCW campus.

TAILGATING: Tailgating is permitted for UNCW Athletics events. Fans are asked to only occupy one parking spot as parking is limited at UNCW. Fans are recommended to park at the Lot-K Extension next to the UNCW Tennis Complex. A parking spot may not be occupied or reserved with any tailgating items (tents, grills, chairs etc.).

UMBRELLAS: Umbrellas may be used but at the discretion of UNCW Facility & Event Management staff.

WATER FOUNTAINS: There are water fountains located in the Almkuist-Nixon Sports Medicine Building, as well as at the main entrance of the UNCW Soccer Complex.
