UNCW Volleyball A-Z Guide

ADA ACCOMMODATIONS: Please find below a list of disability services currently provided at Hanover Hall. Prior to game day, guests with any special needs are encouraged to reach out to the UNCW Facilities & Event Management team at 910-962-4245 or gameday@uncw.edu. Our staff can assist in making arrangements for your visit and answer any questions. If you have any questions on game day, please contact the nearest event staff member. 
  • Parking - ADA parking is located in the courtyard directly in front of the main entrance of Hanover Hall. Additional parking can be found in Lot A located adjacent to the main entrance.
  • Seating - Accessible seating is located at each end of the bleachers on the north side of the arena (opposite the team benches).
  • Restrooms - Restrooms located on either side of the main lobby and are ADA accessible.
  • Sidewalks - There are handicap accessible sidewalks and ramps to the side auxiliary entrance that lead to the seating sections.
ADDRESS: Hanover Hall is located at 680 Hamilton Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403.

ADMISSION: Admission for UNCW Volleyball matches in Hanover Hall is free of charge to the general public. UNCW Athletics reserves the right to deny entry to any guest based on capacity level of the facility. 

ALCOHOL/TOBACCO: Alcohol, illegal drugs and tobacco products are strictly prohibited at all UNCW Athletics events.  Individuals violating this policy are subject to ejection from the stadium. 

ANIMALS: All animals are prohibited inside Hanover Hall. Service animals are welcome.

ATM: There are no ATM’s located inside Hanover Hall. The nearest ATM’s are located on the first floor of the Fisher University Union. See campus map (UNCW Campus Map) for the location of the Fisher University Union.

BABY CHANGING STATIONS: There are no baby changing stations in Hanover Hall. Stations can be found in the restrooms in Trask Coliseum.

BIKE PARKING: Bikes are prohibited within the facility. Parking is located outside the main entrance at the designated bike racks. Please note that UNCW Athletics is not responsible for lost or stolen bicycles.

CAMERA POLICY: Handheld still cameras are permitted for personal use only. No cameras are permitted into the facility with a lens longer than five (5) inches.  Videos cameras are permitted to be used during pre-match and during the intermission between the second and third sets only. Video cameras are prohibited from filming the match. 

CONCESSIONS: A variety of food items and Pepsi products are available from the concession stand located in the main lobby of Hanover Hall.  The concession stand opens 60 minutes prior to the start of the match.

CONDUCT: UNCW Athletics expects all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during, and after the competition.  We expect all fans to treat other guests, players, coaches and officials with courtesy.  Please join us in creating a fun, safe, family atmosphere in Hanover Hall by not:
  • Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game;
  • Using/displaying foul or abusive language or gestures;
  • Appearing to be intoxicated or in a diminished capacity;
  • Entering the competition or restricted access areas;
  • Throwing objects onto the competition area or within the venue; or
  • Otherwise being disorderly.
Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest. Guests should contact a stadium official if they feel someone is not acting appropriately. 

CREDIT CARDS: UNCW concessions gladly accepts all forms of major credit cards for your convenience.

DIRECTIONS: Directions to Hanover Hall are listed below.
  • If Traveling To Wilmington Via I-40: I-40 becomes US 132/South College Road once the interstate ends. Continue traveling south on South College Road approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Hurst Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Continue ¼ mile on Hurst Drive and take a left at the stop light onto Hamilton Dr. Continue another ½ mile and turn left, you will see a road with Parking Lot A attached. To enter Hanover use the main entrance located in the courtyard.
  • If Traveling To Wilmington Via US 74/76: After crossing the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, US 74/76 is also called Dawson Street . Continue on Dawson Street approximately 1.5 miles. Dawson Street (US 76E) will bear right and become Oleander Drive. Continue on Oleander Drive approximately 2.5 miles until it intersects with US 132N/South College Road. Turn left onto South College Road. Travel approximately 1 mile north, and then turn right onto Hurst Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. . Continue ¼ mile on Hurst Drive and take a left at the stop light onto Hamilton Dr. Continue another ½ mile and turn left, you will see a road with Parking Lot A attached. To enter Hanover use the main entrance located in the courtyard.
  • If Traveling From North Of Wilmington Via US 17: US 17 becomes Market Street in Wilmington. Continue traveling south on Market Street. Go under the overpass at the junction of US 117S/132S, and immediately turn left at the traffic light onto South College Road. Continue traveling on South College Road approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Hurst Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Continue ¼ mile on Hurst Drive and take a left at the stop light onto Hamilton Dr. Continue another ½ mile and turn left, you will see a road with Parking Lot A attached. To enter Hanover use the main entrance located in the courtyard.
  • If Traveling From Wilmington International Airport: As you exit the airport, turn left onto 23rd Street. Turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Continue to the US 132/South College Road intersection, and turn right onto South College Road. Travel approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Hurst Drive at the traffic light. You are now on the UNCW campus. Continue ¼ mile on Hurst Drive and take a left at the stop light onto Hamilton Dr. Continue another ½ mile and turn left, you will see a road with Parking Lot A attached. To enter Hanover use the main entrance located in the courtyard.
EMERGENCIES: During any emergency inside Hanover Hall, follow the directions of the PA announcer, Event Staff and emergency responders.
  • Always designate a pre-determined location both inside and outside the gym to meet friends and family in case you are separated or in the event of an emergency.
  • Upon arriving at your seat location, first find the nearest exit and then locate an alternate exit in case of emergency.
  • See Something, Say Something – If you see or become aware of any activity that is unusual, suspicious or cause you concern, report the activity to the nearest event staff member.
  • Emergency vehicles may be present in and around Hanover Hall.Please do not obstruct the path of travel of a fire truck or emergency vehicle or interfere with their operations.Vehicles or objects (tents, tables, tailgate games, etc.) blocking emergency vehicles, designated fire lanes, stadium exits or exit paths, or vehicle/pedestrian traffic in general will be removed and dealt with in a manner deemed appropriate by stadium officials.Vehicles are subject to be towed at the owner’s expense.
FIRST AID/EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Guests in need of first aid or medical assistance should contact the nearest event staff member.  In case of emergency, please dial 911.      

ENTRY SCREENING: Guests may be subject to screening upon entry into Hanover Hall. Please check the prohibited list below. If you have any questions please contact 910-962-4245. Thank you for your cooperation.

FILMING LOCATION: A small filming box is located on the wall in both end zone areas of Hanover Hall. The filming box is to be used by home and visiting teams only. Filming is permitted to authorized personnel only. A ladder will be provided for teams utilizing the filming boxes.

GATES: Gates open 60 minutes prior to game time.

GUEST SERVICES: If you are in need of assistance or information, please find the nearest event staff member, contact UNCW Game Operations on Twitter @UNCW_Gameday or via email gameday@uncw.edu.

LOST & FOUND: If any item is lost or found in the facility, please inquire about or report the item to the nearest event staff member. All lost and found items not picked up prior to the end of the match will be will be available for pickup the following day. Please call (910) 962-4245 or email gameday@uncw.edu to inquire about lost items.  Unclaimed items will be retained for thirty (30) days following the event. After that time, any unclaimed items will be discarded.

LOST CHILD: In the event of a lost child or guest, please report the situation to the nearest event staff member as soon as possible. If a child or guest has been deemed lost by a guardian or fellow guest they should report the situation to an event staff member as soon as possible.

MAIN ENTRANCE: The main entrance to Hanover Hall is located in the courtyard between Hanover Hall & Trask Coliseum.  

MARKETING ITEMS: UNCW marketing items such as schedules, roster cards, magnets and other items may be found at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK fan center located in the main lobby.

MERCHANDISE: UNCW merchandise is located in the main lobby of Hanover Hall. They accept cash and all major credit cards.

  • UNCW assumes no responsibility for loss through fire, theft, collision or otherwise to the car or contents. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. Please lock your vehicle.
  • In case of emergency please dial 9-1-1 or call (910) 962-2222.UNCW Police will be the primary responder for on-campus emergency calls. If an emergency occurs and authorities are contacted, please designate someone in your party to help direct emergency personnel to the emergency location.
  • Free General Public Parking is located in Lot A as well as Lot K. These lots may be accessed via Hamilton Drive.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS: Please note that UNCW Athletics and UNCW are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

PROHIBITED ITEMS: The following items are prohibited from entering Hanover Hall:
  • Alcohol, & Illegal Drugs
  • Animals (Service animals welcome)
  • Artificial Noisemakers
  • Balls or Frisbees
  • Cameras with lenses >5” 
  • Coolers and containers (ice chests, thermoses, cups, bottles or other like containers)
  • Cans, Glass or Metal Containers
  • Confetti or Glitter
  • Fireworks, Flares or any Explosives
  • Large Bags (large duffle bags, backpacks, etc.)
  • Laser Pointers
  • Outside food or drink
  • Personal Chairs
  • Remote Controlled Aircrafts (Drones)
  • Signs, Banners, Flags or any other item that obstructs view or contains inappropriate language.
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Anything deemed hazardous or unsafe by event personnel
UNCW reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the stadium.  Any such items should be returned to your vehicle and/or discarded.  All guests are subject to search before entering the stadium.

RECYCLING: Recycling bins are located in the lobby of Hanover Hall for your convenience.

RE-ENTRY: Re-entry is permitted at Hanover Hall. All items are subject to search upon re-entry to the stadium. 

RESTROOMS: Restrooms will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the game.   Men’s and Women’s restrooms are located within the main lobby of the facility. All restrooms are accessible for persons with disabilities. 

SCORER'S TABLES: The Hanover Hall scorer's tables and media area are centrally located between the two team benches. The table is for authorized personnel only.

SEATING: All seating is located in the North & South bleachers and is general admission seating.  Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.  Accessible seating is located at either end of the north bleachers (opposite the team benches).

SEAHAWK DIGITAL NETWORK: The Seahawk Digital Network (SDN) is the official UNCW Athletics streaming and live stats service for all UNCW Athletics events. For access to the Seahawk Digital Network, please visit UNCWSports.com/SDN

SIGNS/BANNERS: Signs and banners are permitted within Hanover Hall, however UNCW reserves the right to prohibit or require the cessation of any display of a banner or sign that obstructs the view of other guests, obscures gym signage, can be considered an advertisement or is determined to be obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate or derogatory.  

SKATEBOARDS/LONGBOARD/HOVERBOARDS: Skateboards, longboards hover boards and other transportation items are not permitted inside Hanover Hall.

SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted at any UNCW Athletics events. Smoking is permitted 25 feet outside of any UNCW campus building or facility.

TAILGATING: Tailgating is permitted for UNCW athletic events. Fans are asked to only occupy one parking spot as parking is limited at UNCW. A parking spot may not be occupied or reserved with any tailgating items (tents, grills, chairs etc.).

TEAM BENCHES: The home bench is located on the left if facing the benches from the court. The visiting bench is located on the right side.

TOBACCO/ALCOHOL: UNCW athletics does not allow any alcohol, illegal drugs or tobacco inside Brooks Field.  

VOLLEYBALLS: Hit volleyballs entering the stands happen frequently within the confines of Hanover Hall. Fans should be aware of stray volleyballs at all times.
