Biography

      Associate Athletic Trainer Stacy Downar joined UNCW’s athletic training staff in August of 2004.
     The Hertford, N.C., native provides coverage for the women’s soccer and men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. She is also a preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program and an instructor in the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences.         
     Downar earned her B.A. in Athletic Training from UNC Chapel Hill in 2002 and completed her M.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion at the University of Kentucky in 2004.
     She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association, and National Academy of Sports Medicine.  She is also a certified instructor for the American Red Cross.
    Stacy enjoys going to the beach, sailing, reading, and traveling.
