Hoard, Ferguson Make NCAA Diving Debuts

ATHENS, Ga. – Tyler Hoard and Etan Ferguson made their NCAA Regional debuts on Monday, competing in the 1-meter board at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Hoard, a junior transfer from South Carolina, placed 29th with 268.25 points. Ferguson, also a junior, finished 34th with 223.5 points.

Hoard's best score came on his fifth dive, an inward 2 1/2 Somersault Tuck, and he scored 48 points. The attempt moved him into 25th place entering the final round.

Ferguson, meanwhile, opened his appearance with a dive of 44.40 points. It was an inward 1 1/2 Somersault Pike.

Hoard and Ferguson compete on Tuesday on the 3-meter board.
