CONWAY, S.C. – Sophomores Lucia Gomez and Alex Borcich claimed victories as UNCW fell to Coastal Carolina, 5-2, on Sunday at Stevens Tennis Complex.

UNCW dropped to 1-3 on the season, while the Chanticleers improved to 4-3.

In No. 5 singles, Gomez picked up her second win of the season, cruising to a straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-1, against Paula Cabrer. 

Borcich also earned her second win of the season, prevailing in a slugfest in No. 6 singles against Katya Hersh, 7-6 (13), 7-5.
