Program Records Fall For UNCW

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNCW posted a pair of program records, and a relay moved into the national leaders after the second day of the Fall Frenzy Invitational at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center on Friday.

The Seahawks lead the women's meet with 524 points and the men are second to Queens with 981.

William Carrico posted his program-record-setting performance in the 200 IM when he clocked in with an event-winning time of 1:44.69.

Alex Tysinger, meanwhile, set a UNCW freshman standard in the 50 Free when she posted a time of 22.88 seconds in the preliminary session earlier in the day.

At the national level, UNCW's women's 400 Medley Relay featuring Maeren McGonigal, Gil Shaw, Cameron Snowden and Tysinger won the event with a time of 3:37.26 was the 23rd fastest time in the nation this season.

In diving, which is competing at the Patriot Invitational, Etan Ferguson placed second on the men's 3-meter board with 320.05 points, and Makenna Sharpe added a runner-up finish on the women's 1-meter with 267.10 points.

On Thursday evening, Isabella Wilhelm placed third in the women's 3-meter (279.95) and Ethan Badrian also finished third with a score of 301.05.
