WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – UNCW men's soccer fell 2-0 to William & Mary in a Coastal Athletic Association South Division matchup on Saturday night at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
UNCW slid to 3-5-2 overall and 2-2 in the CAA while William & Mary improved to 2-6-3 on the season and moved to 1-3-1 in the CAA.
Webb Kosich broke the scoreless tie in the 67th minute on a second-chance opportunity from inside the penalty area.
Max Cooper tacked on the insurance goal for the Tribe in the 89th minute, scoring on an empty-netter.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Trey Smiley made a season-high seven saves for the Seahawks, which also tied his career-high.
Midfielders Jack Clarkson and Osei Gyamfi tallied a pair of shots on goal for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks held a 16-12 advantage in total shots, but the Tribe had a 9-4 edge in shots on target.
UNCW will continue its road trip with a match at Elon (5-2-4, 2-0-2, CAA) on Saturday, Oct. 11, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
