Men's Tennis Falls To NC State In Regional

RALEIGH, N.C. – UNCW's season came to an end on Friday with a 4-0 loss to 14th-seed NC State in the opening round of the NCAA Raleigh Regional at the JW Isenhour Tennis Complex.

The Wolfpack advanced to the regional final with a record of 18-6 while the Seahawks finished 17-6.

The Wolfpack and Seahawks split doubles matches with the Seahawks losing on court one but drawing even behind a 7-5 win on court three by Gabe Hurtado and Trey Mallory.

On court two, the Wolfpack would prevail, 7-6, in a 7-5 tie-breaker win by Joseph Wayand and Robin Catry over Beka Rasamatov and Drew Broadstreet.

NCSU posted wins on courts three, five and six to close out the win.

On court one, UNCW's Harold Huens led Catry, the 54th-ranked singles player, 6-3, 4-3, before the match ended on court three.
