Charleston Knocks Off UNCW To Clinch Series

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Cole Singsank homered and drove in four runs as the College of Charleston clinched a Coastal Athletic Association series win over UNCW on Saturday with a 12-3 win at Brooks Field.

The Cougars improved to 20-9 overall and 6-2 in the league with their sixth straight win. The Seahawks, who dropped to 12-7 at home, saw their records slide to 18-13 and 6-2 in the league.

Will Baumhofer and Dariyan Pendergrass led the CofC lineup with two hits apiece. Avery Neaves also homered for the Cougars.

Aidan Hunter (3-1) held the Seahawks in check over his five innings for the win.

Jac Croom collected three hits for UNCW and Aidan Evans homered.

Jacob Shafer (2-4) took the loss, allowing six runs over five innings.

The Seahawks look to avoid a sweep by Charleston on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start.
