Albayrak Sends Women's Tennis To CAA Semif

ELON, N.C. – Trailing 3-1 to third-seed College of Charleston, UNCW rallied to win the final three matches to upset the Cougars, 4-3, and advance to the semifinals of the Coastal Athletic Association women's tennis championship tournament.

The Seahawks pushed their record to 12-7 with their third straight win while the Cougars fell to 17-4.

Elif Albayrak provided the match-clinching win by edging Oziera Ahmad, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 on court three.

Alex Borcich began the rally on court six with a 6-3, 7-6 (12-10) victory to narrow the deficit to 3-2.

Stela Joksimovic followed on court two with a 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4 victory over Halli Trinkle to draw the Seahawks even at 3-all.

UNCW will take on second-seed William Mary at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
