Seahawks Can't Hold Off #15 ECU Late

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Trevor Marsh had three hits, including a home run, for UNCW, but East Carolina scored four runs late to rally past the Seahawks, 7-4, on Tuesday at LeClair Stadium.

The Pirates, who scored three in the seventh and one more in the eighth, improved to 17-6 and completed a sweep of the Seahawks, who dropped to 14-12 after having their three-game winning streak snapped.

UNCW scored twice in the first on Marsh's sixth homer of the season and Jac Croom's third round tripper of the season highlighted a two-run second inning.

Alec DeMartino collected three singles for UNCW.

Tanner Thach (0-2) was tagged with the loss for the Seahawks.

Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman (3-1) with three innings of shutout relief.

Five different Pirates had two hits and Chaz Myers belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the second. It was his first of the season.

The Seahawks visit North Carolina A&T this weekend for a Coastal Athletic Association series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.
