Men's Basketball Falls In CAA Quarterfinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dylan Williamson's team-high 18 points lifted Towson past UNCW, 66-56, on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Jersey Mike's Coastal Athletic Association conference championship at the D.C Entertainment and Sports Arena.

The Tigers, who improved to 20-13, advanced to Monday's semifinals against top-seeded Charleston. The Seahawks, meanwhile, dropped to 21-10.

UNCW's Trazarien White held game-high honors with 24 points and Shykeim Phillips added 16.

UNCW moved to within two points, 53-51, with 3:38 remaining, but Williamon knocked down a three-pointer to push the lead to five. He would rattle off eight points during a run that saw Towson build a 61-53 lead with 51 seconds left in the game.

Joining Williamson in double figures were Nendah Tarke and Mekhi Lwery with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
