WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Freshman Kylah Silver matched her season-high of 18 points in UNCW's 68-50 home setback to William & Mary in Coastal Athletic Association women's basketball action on Friday night at Trask Coliseum.
The Tribe improved to 15-11 overall with an 11-4 record in the CAA. UNCW enters Sunday's contest vs. Towson at 5-21 and 3-12Â in the circuit.
Silver shot an efficient 7-of-12 and added seven rebounds. Redshirt freshman Taylor Henderson (13) senior Evan Miller (11) also reached double figures scoring.
W&M also had three players surpass 10 points in junior Anahi-Lee Cauley (15), senior Kayla Beckwith (13) and graduate student Nylah Young (12).
Four straight points by Silver made it 23-21, Tribe in front, with 6:48 left in the second quarter. W&M then closed the period on a 13-3 run to take a 36-24 lead into halftime and maintained a double-digit advance for most of the third and fourth quarters.
The Seahawks will honor seniors Miller and Britany Range on Sunday for Senior Day vs. Towson at 1 p.m.
