Men's Tennis Falls 4-3 At LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – UNCW closed out a short trip through Alabama and Louisiana with a 4-3 loss at red-shot LSU on Sunday at the LSU Tennis Complex.

The Tigers improved to 8-1 on the season while the Seahawks dropped to 2-3.

LSU earned the doubles point by winning on courts two and three.

UNCW trailed 2-0 before Gabe Hurtado notched a three-set win on court four to narrow the UNCW deficit to 2-1.

LSU moved to within a point of clinching the match with a three-set win by 95th-ranked George Stoupe over Reece Falck.

UNCW, however, held off the Tigers on court five with Trey Mallory posting a three-set victory.

On court one, LSU's Stefan Latinovic gained the winning point for the Tigers in three sets over Harold Huens.

Beckhzod Rasamatov closed out the match for UNCW with a victory on court two.

The Seahawks host East Tennessee State on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
