Women's Basketball Preview: Stony Brook

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team closes out the opening weekend of Coastal Athletic Association play at Stony Brook on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Island Federal Arena.

SERIES INFO
The Seahawks and Seawolves have met three times prior to this season including a pair of games won by Stony Brook in its first year in the league last season.

UNCW will make its second appearance at Island Federal Arena in as many seasons. Sunday marks the lone matchup between the schools this season.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior guard Evan Miller was one of nine CAA players to reach 20 or more points in the league's opening night of conference play on Friday. Miller's 21 points in UNCW's loss at Hofstra marked the second-highest scoring output of her career. She has reached the 20-point plateau in the last two games.

Redshirt freshman guard Taylor Henderson, who scored 15 against the Pride, and Miller both recorded career-highs with six steals.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook, projected to finish second in the preseason poll, carries a six-game win streak into Sunday afternoon following their 73-43 CAA opening win vs. Campbell on Friday.

Like Miller, graduate forward/center Khari Clark has also scored over 20 points in her last two games with 21 points against the Camels. All-CAA performers Gigi Gonzalez and Sherese Pittman added 15 and 11 points, respectively in the league-opening win.
