Rams Spoil Seahawks' Home Opener

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – VCU's Milica Bulatovic contributed two goals and an assist as the Rams spoiled UNCW's home opener 5-0 in women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Rams improved their record to 1-1. The Seahawks dipped to 0-2 to begin the 2023 campaign.

Bulatovic's brace came on headers in the 24th and 49th minutes after VCU took an early 1-0 advantage on a UNCW own goal 18 minutes into the contest. The senior's first header happened on a well-placed corner kick by midfielder Anna Bagley while her second goal was a cross from midfielder Kanna Matsuhisa.

Bagley and Bulatovic again linked up with under 10 minutes to play for the Rams' fourth goal, this time off the foot of Bagley and assisted by Bulatovic.

Graduate forward Jordan Faveri completed the five-goal day with a strike in the upper-left corner of the net in the 89th minute.

Junior Kayla Burroughs and freshman Viktoria Hankova each collected one shot for the Seahawks.

UNCW returns to action on Sunday, Aug. 27, vs. Liberty at 1 p.m.
