Seahawks Stay Perfect At Home

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the young season by defeating visiting Queens, 6-1, in the first meeting between the two schools early Saturday at the UNCW Courts.
 
Playing in frosty temperatures, the Seahawks captured the early doubles point after winning at the top two positions and then claimed five of the six singles matches for the easy victory.
 
Senior Zoe Huffman (Maiden, N.C.) clinched the match for the Seahawks by cruising past QU's Jill Morse, 6-2, 6-4, at the top of the lineup.
 
The Seahawks continue their spring schedule on Thursday, Feb. 9, with a 2 p.m. match against Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C.
