MBB Preview: Vs. Appalachian State

Seahawks and Mountaineers meet Tuesday in Ft. Myers

FT. MYERS, Fla. – The Seahawks and Appalachian State meet in Suncoast Credit Union Arena at noon on Tuesday at UNCW wraps up the Ft. Myers Tip-Off.

UNCW improved to 4-0 on Monday with a come-from-behind win in overtime against Murray State. The Seahawks wiped out a 10-point deficit with a 16-6 run over the final 6:21 of regulation to force overtime tied at 72-all. 

Shykeim Phillips scored eight of his 19 points in the extra period to lift the Seahawks to an 83-81 victory.

Maleeck Harden-Hayes paced the Seahawks with 23 points, a season-high, on 7-10 shooting from the field, including 4-5 from three-poiint range. He added seven rebounds and blocked two shots. His free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining forced overtime.

Following Tuesday's game, the Seahawks will be off until Nov. 25 when they visit Florida Gulf Coast.
