NEWARK, Delaware – The UNCW women's soccer team concluded its season with a scoreless draw at Delaware on Sunday afternoon at Grant Stadium.
The Seahawks moved to 5-9-3 overall which includes a 4-5-3 Coastal Athletic Association mark. The Blue Hens close out 2023 at 5-5-8 and 2-3-7 in the league.
UNCW finishes seventh in the CAA standings, one point behind Stony Brook for the sixth and final CAA Championships berth.
Graduate goalkeeper Hanna Wise captured her seventh shutout of the season. The Westlake Village, Calif., native turned back all five of the Blue Hens' shots on goal and totaled 71 saves this season
The Seahawks mounted a second half push with nine of their 10 shots occurring after halftime, but were held scoreless by Delaware goalkeeper Kyla Burns, who completed her ninth shutout.
The UNCW defense held Delaware to three shots in the second half after the Blue Hens recorded nine attempts in the first 45 minutes of play.
