UNCW Powers Past Old Dominion In Swimming

UNCW combines for 18 event wins in a sweep of the meet

NORFOLK, Va. - Led by three event wins from freshman William Carrico to power the UNCW men, the Seahawks posted an impressive sweep of Old Dominion in swimming action on Friday at Scrap Chandler Pool. 
 
UNCW (155-105) improved to 2-0 on the men's side while the women (156-98) evened their record at 1-1. Friday was the season-opener for Old Dominion. 
 
Carrico, who opened his collegiate career with a key win in the 400 IM against South Carolina, collected wins in the 200 Butterfly, Backstroke and IM events. 
 
On the women's side of the meet, eight different Seahawks won individual events, including freshmen Abby Prucha (200 Fly) and Sam Duggan (500 Free). 
 
The Seahawks visit William & Mary on Saturday for a 10 a.m. start at the Bee McLeod Recreation Center.
