GREENSBORO, North Carolina – UNC Greensboro used a goal in each half to turn back the UNCW men's soccer team, 2-0, on Sunday night at UNCG Soccer Stadium.
The Spartans improved to 2-0 on the young season and turn their attention to another teal opponent in Coastal Carolina on Friday. The Seahawks dipped to 0-1-1 and open Colonial Athletic Association play next Saturday at Monmouth.
UNCG's Steven Cordova put the Spartans on the board shortly before halftime with his first career goal courtesy of an assist by Basile Marc.
The Spartans added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute off a Marco Afonso strike. The fifth-year forward was aided by freshman Steven Hernandez.
