Melnick To Make Team Canada Debut

BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, Mexico – The Canadian National Volleyball team and Grace Melnick, a sophomore at UNCW, will take the court on Tuesday in their Pan Am Cup debut against Argentina.

Team Canada is in Group C along with Costa Rica and the United States.

Melnick, who hails from Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, was selected to train with Canada's NextGen Program in the spring. The program is viewed as an entry point for players looking to represent Canada and looks to develop those players on a world-class level for the Women's National Team.

As a freshman at UNCW in 2021, Melnick played in 25 matches, making 21 starts. As a middle blocker, she tallied 47 total blocks, ranking second on the team. Offensively, she hit .174.
Following Tuesday's match, Team Canada will play Team USA and Costa Rica on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
