Seahawks Trim Bulldogs In Tennis

ORANGEBURG, South Carolina – Sophomore Anna Daniels outlasted Lasya Patnaik in three sets at No. 4 singles to propel UNCW over host S.C. State, 4-2, in women's tennis Wednesday at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.

The Seahawks, playing the third straight opponent with Bulldogs as a mascot, evened their record at 3-3 on the season after alternating wins and losses in the first six matches of the season. The Bulldogs stand 0-3 this spring.

UNCW captured the doubles point after winning matches at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Daniels teamed up with sophomore Brinley Bell for a 6-2 decision over Anabel Ramirez and Andjela Mihajovic at the No. 3 slot to notch the early point.

The two teams traded wins in the next four matches before Daniels grinded out a 6-3, 2-6, 7-4 verdict over Patnaik for a pair of victories on the day.
