Sophie Trepohl scored the game-winning goal with just under three minutes remaining in the first overtime period as UNCW edged William & Mary, 1-0, in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer action at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field on Thursday evening.
The Seahawks, who ran their unbeaten streak to eight games, stand 7-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the CAA. William & Mary dropped to 3-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 against league opponents.
Trepohl, the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week, scored her second goal in as many games with 2:38 remaining in the extra period when she flicked a corner kick by senior defender
Carey Allard with her back to the goal into the right side.

Kaylie Bierman notched two saves in the victory to collect her fifth shutout of the season.
Junior
Zoe Doughty, making her first start of the season, registered four saves in the loss for William & Mary, which has lost three of its last four games.
UNCW and William & Mary return to action on Sunday, Oct. 10, at noon. The Seahawks welcome No. 10 Hofstra to UNCW Soccer Stadium while the Tribe entertains Drexel at Martin Family Stadium.
