Conference-Leader Elon Rolls Past Volleyball

ELON, N.C. – Brooke Hanshumaker finished with six kills and Jadyn Barry held match-high honors with 18 digs, but UNCW volleyball was swept by Colonial Athletic Association leader Elon at the Schar Center on Saturday.

The Phoenix ran their record to 12-7 overall and 7-2 in the conference. The Seahawks, meanwhile, dipped to 2-16 and 1-6 with the road loss.

Elon hit .404 on the match, with 14 kills and just two hitting errors in each set. Leah Daniel, who leads the CAA in kills, finished with 10 while Jenn Krzeminski and Kellyn Trowse chipped in 10 apiece.

Haylie Clark doled out 35 assists on 42 kills for the Phoenix.

For Barry, her 18 digs were the most this season since collecting 21 against North Alabama on August 28.

The series concludes on Sunday with a 3 p.m. start.
