Seahawk Staff Spotlight: Mark Dominick
Eric Rhew
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.
This week's edition shines the spotlight on assistant athletic trainer
Mark Dominick, who is in his third year of working with the UNCW baseball team.
What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW?
I remember walking through the athletics buildings and realizing I had been here before but totally forgot! When I was at Eastern Kentucky, I worked with the baseball team and we had traveled to UNCW for a weekend series, but I had forgotten until I had complete déjà vu and remembered!
What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
The baseball program has provided me with many great memories. Being a part of Coach Scalf's 900th win along with the 2018 and 2019 CAA championships in addition to the countless memories of working with all of these incredible student-athletes.
What does working at UNCW mean to you?
UNCW has been an amazing community that welcomed me with open arms as soon as I arrived. I grew up on the coast in Maine and my undergrad school (Quinnipiac) was like UNCW in many ways. So, for me, Wilmington has felt like home from day one.
If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?
25
Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I had to choose between athletic training and trying to walk on the baseball team. I knew athletic training would carry far beyond what little skills I had, so no college ball for me.
