ELON, North Carolina – Freshman Keagan Goldwait hit a two-run home run as Elon secured a 2-1 victory over UNCW in the Colonial Athletic Association series opener at Hunt Softball Park on Friday evening.
The loss dropped the Seahawks' record to 20-15 overall and 2-2 in the CAA while Elon improved to 18-13-1 overall with an identical 2-2 mark in league play.
The Phoenix overcame a 1-0 deficit in the fourth inning to earn the victory. After Erica Serafini drew a walk with one out in the frame, she moved to second base on a groundout before Goldwait blasted a two-run shot to left center field off UNCW senior

Redshirt junior Abby Barker retired the final nine UNCW batters to nail down her 10th victory of the season.

Dominique Travers reached base on an error, which allowed Adamczyk to score from second base.
Barker allowed one unearned run on one hit in a complete game effort while tallying four strikeouts.
Lenderman, who dropped to 7-6 with the loss, allowed just two hits with two strikeouts in her seventh complete game of the season.
