NEWARK, Delaware – Senior guard Jess Genco led four Northeastern players in double figures with 22 points, including 18 in the second half, as the sixth-seeded Huskies upset third-seeded UNCW with a 75-64 victory in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at the Bob Carpenter Center on Thursday evening.

The Huskies, who improved to 20-10 on the season, earned a berth into the semifinals and will face second-seeded Drexel on Friday, Mar. 15, at 4 p.m. UNCW, meanwhile, dipped to 18-12 on the season.

Genco, a First-Team All-CAA selection, knocked down 4-of-11 field goal attempts while converting 13-of-16 free throws in the victory for the Huskies. She also added six rebounds and five assists while playing all 40 minutes.

Junior guard Shannon Todd added 16 points after shooting 5-for-8 from the field, including a 4-of-7 showing from three-point range, while contributing six rebounds and five assists.

Freshman forward Alexis Hill chipped in 16 points off the bench while senior forward Gabby Giacone netted 11 points, including a 5-for-6 performance at the charity stripe.

The Seahawks, who had three players score in double figures for the 21st time in 30 games this season, were led by junior guard
Ahyiona Vason's season-high 24 points. The Montgomery, Ala., product converted 9-of-13 field goal attempts, including a 5-for-8 effort from beyond the arc, with four rebounds and two steals.

Key Moment: Northeastern closed the first quarter by going on a 13-2 run over the final 4:41 to turn a one-point deficit into a 20-10 advantage the Huskies did not relinquish. Todd scored the first five points of the run for Northeastern, which did not trail by fewer than five points the rest of the way.
