Ben Davidson each scored a goal as No. 13 UNCW remained unbeaten with a 2-0 victory over Longwood in non-conference men's soccer action at Longwood Athletics Complex on Monday evening.
The win elevated the Seahawks' record to 4-0-0 on the season while Longwood dropped to 1-2-0 after suffering its second consecutive loss.
Elveroth gave the Seahawks a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute when he tallied his second goal of the season off an assist from senior
David Lozano.
With 9:57 remaining, Davidson upped the advantage to 2-0 when he knocked in a rebound of a shot by junior
Phillip Goodrum for his first marker of the year.
Redshirt senior
Ryan Cretens earned his third solo shutout of the season as the Seahawks limited Longwood to just five shot attempts, including one in the first half.
Sophomore Jacob Reimers made four saves in the loss for the Lancers.
Up Next: The Seahawks return home this weekend for the UNCW SpringHill Suites Classic. They will face Fairfield on Friday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. before closing out the tournament against UNC Asheville at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.
