CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – No. 8 Virginia used two goals from redshirt junior forward Mia Hoen-Beck to pull away from UNCW for a 4-0 victory in a women's soccer exhibition contest at Klockner Stadium on Monday afternoon.
The Cavaliers scored all four of their goals in the final 25 minutes to earn the victory. Senior midfielder Betsy Brandon got Virginia on the board when she scored off passes from Megan Reid and senior midfielder Ayan Adu.
Hoen-Beck converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute to increase the margin to 2-0 before redshirt sophomore forward Sam Rosette scored just over five minutes later.
With 19 seconds remaining, Hoen-Beck completed the scoring with her second goal of the contest off a feed from redshirt sophomore midfielder Anna Sumpter.

Sydney Schneider combined to make one save for the Seahawks as Virginia held a 17-2 advantage in shots.
The Seahawks open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 17 with a 7 p.m. contest at former Colonial Athletic Association rival VCU.
