WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Redshirt senior forward Tanisha Brown posted a double-double to lead four College of Charleston players in double figures as the Cougars surged to an early lead and held off UNCW to secure a 72-63 victory in Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball action at Trask Coliseum on Friday evening.

The win, which snapped Charleston's 10-game losing streak, upped the Cougars' record to 6-18 overall and 2-11 in the CAA. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped to 8-15 overall with a 1-11 mark in the loop.

Brown scored 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to lead the Cougars. The Myrtle Beach, S.C., product also dished out a career-high nine assists and added three blocks.

Sophomore guard Cailin Dorsey scored a game-high 18 points after knocking down 6-of-8 shots from the field while junior guard Darien Huff chipped in 16 points. Sophomore guard Deja Ford contributed 13 points with four rebounds.

Key Moment: Charleston broke away late in the first quarter by going on an 11-3 run over a four-minute span, giving the Cougars a 21-10 lead they did not relinquish. Huff netted five of her points during the run as Charleston held UNCW without a field goal for over six minutes to close out the frame. Â
