PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - UNCW and Drexel haven't met on the hardwood in 53 days, but will close out the 2017-18 regular season with an afternoon matinee on Saturday at the cozy Daskalakis Center.

The Seahawks (9-20, 6-11 CAA) and Dragons (12-18, 6-11 CAA) clash at 4 p.m. in the eighth afternoon game of the year for Coach C.B. McGrath's club. The two teams last played on Jan. 2 at Trask Coliseum, where UNCW handed McGrath his first CAA victory with a resounding 107-87 decision after shooting 58.3 percent from the field on its home floor.

UNCW is looking for just its second road victory of the season following a 96-83 loss at William & Mary late Thursday. UNCW is 1-15 away from Wilmington in 2017-18, including 1-11 in true road contests and 1-7 in conference road stops.

The Seahawks are locked in a battle with Drexel and Elon for the coveted sixth spot in the CAA landings, which carries with it an opening-round bye to next weekend's CAA Tournament. The four-day event gets under way on Saturday, March 3, with two opening-round games at the North Charleston Coliseum.

In Thursday's loss to the Tribe, the Seahawks surged ahead, 47-38, at halftime before W&M stormed back in the second half. Sparked by sophomore forward Justin Pierce's 22 points, the Tribe shot 56.7 percent after intermission and outscored the Seahawks, 58-36, in the final 20 minutes to improve to 10-3 at Kaplan Arena.

Junior forward Devontae Cacok continued his stellar play for the Seahawks, scoring 18 points and pulling down 12 rebounds for his CAA-leading 21st double-double of the season. Sophomore guard Jaylen Fornes led all scorers in the contest with a career-high 27 points.

Drexel, meanwhile, pulled off a historic win in the cozy Daskalakis Center, the CAA's second smallest venue. The Dragons set an NCAA record by roaring back from a 34-point deficit to stun Delaware, 85-83, surpassing the 32-point comeback staged by Duke over Tulane in 1950. Junior transfer Trumaine Isabell converted two of three free throws with 1.5 seconds left in the dramatic finish that drew national attention.

The Seahawks own an 18-12 advantage in the 30-game series with Drexel. UNCW has won five in a row and six of the last 10 meetings with the Dragons. UNCW stands 6-7 in 13 appearances at the Daskalakis Center and has taken its last two games in Philadelphia.

The Seahawks are perfect against Drexel second-year head coach Zach Spiker. The Seahawks swept both matchups one year ago and claimed the first pairing in 2017-18.

The Seahawks have won two in a row at "The Dak." Cacok and Denzel Ingram poured in 22 points apiece as the Seahawks built an early cushion en route to a 90-72 rout of Drexel on Jan. 5, 2017, in snowy Philadelphia. The Seahawks, who shot 51.6 percent, scored 14 of the game's first 16 points en route to a 49-26 bulge at intermission. Chris Flemmings and C.J. Bryce added 19 and 11 points for UNCW. Rodney Williams paced Drexel with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

The Seahawks are 0-7 in afternoon games this season (vs. Loyola-Chicago, at LSU, Furman, vs. NDSU, vs. Howard, at Delaware, at Northeastern).
