CHARLESTON, S.C. – UNCW's season ended on Friday as Charleston knocked off the Seahawks in four sets (25-19, 25-13, 23-25, 25-21) in the opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament at the Johnson Center.
The Seahawks finish 15-12 after returning to the postseason following a two-year absence. The Cougars upped their record to 21-11 and advance to the semifinals on Saturday against James Madison.

Maddy Kline paced the Seahawks with 14 kills while sophomore
Brynn Montgomery posted a double-double of 36 assists and 14 digs.
CofC's Devon Rachel, the CAA Player-of-the-Year, finished with 20 kills while Kennedy Madison joined her in double figures with 13 kills. The Cougars outhit the Seahawks .237-200 on the match.
Trailing 2-0 entering the third set, the Seahawks managed to extend the match another set by hitting .256 with 14 kills.
The Seahawks totaled 16 digs in the final set as the teams combined for 10 tie scores, including 20-all later in the match. Charleston, however, rattled off four consecutive points to take a 24-20 lead before prevailing.
