Volleyhawks Swept by Defending Big South Champion High Point

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – Halle Hunt held team-high honors with nine kills but UNCW lost to defending Big South champion High Point, 3-0, on Sunday at the Millis Center.
The Seahawks, who have dropped four straight matches, dipped to 3-6 while the Panthers halted a brief two-match skid to improve to 5-5.

"We played two very strong programs this weekend and it's tough to be these kind of teams when our offense is inconsistent," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek.

Anna Moss continued her strong play at the net, totaling six blocks and adding six kills. She was joined on the all-tournament team by Madison Peters, who chipped in five kills and a pair of digs and blocks.

High Point's Katie Tylman held match-high honors with 11 kills and she was joined in double-digits kills by Molly Livingston with 10. Livingston added four service aces.

The Seahawks close out their non-conference schedule hosting the Courtyard by Marriott Tournament on Sept.  15-16. UNCW will play Liberty that Friday at 7 p.m.
